NovaCain The Blind Rap God
Take a look around. Imagine everything you see suddenly turn into darkness. And you will never be able to see again. That is what happened to me. At the age of 18, I lost my sight due to being over medicated by a doctor. Shortly after that, I lost both of my parents. I was confused and questioned God’s motives. I had hit a low point in my life. My brother encouraged me to tell my story through music. He said, “Get it off your chest and let everyone know what you’re going through.” So that’s what I did. Since then, I haven’t stopped.
Through the years, I’ve had to learn how to live life as a blind man. In a world in which people think lesser of you, just because you’re blind. So, what did I decide to do about it? I decided show everyone that just because I’m blind, it doesn’t mean that I can’t do what they do. I’ve taken their style of music and made it my own.
“No Excuses” is a movement that inspires people to break through stereotypes and overcome adversity. My music isn’t inspirational rap, I make the same music that you hear major artists make without all the derogatory lyrics. Just because I’m blind, it doesn’t make me any different from anyone else. No matter what obstacles I may face, I can overcome anything with belief and hardwork. I’m taking this message and my story around the world to inspire others to chase their dreams and break through stereotypes. If I can overcome having my sight stolen from me, then my hope is that my story helps others overcome the hardships that they are facing
